Salt-Water Sandals X Canopea: A match made in heaven

After chatting with Canopea’s talented founder, Constance Hartig, it was evident that not only did we share a mutual love for one another’s brands but that we have more than a little in common; Salt-Waters 75+ year heritage and Canopea’s 1930’s inspired collections, styles that are built for splashing about in, a passion for sustainability and timeless, enduring designs that transcend the fleeting nature of trends.

We loved chatting about staying true to ones green credentials and producing garments that are so well made they can be handed down from siblings to cousins …and on to friends.

It’s fascinating to learn that Canopea’s swimwear is made in Portugal and fashioned from beautifully soft fabrics that offer 50+ UV protection which comes from the tight weaving of the fibre, making their UV swimwear, the most sustainable and reliable alternative to sunscreen, instead of chemical filters that wash off after a few swims.

Their products are also made from regenerated super-resistant nylon fibre, called Econyl®, which is made from rescued fishing nets and other post-consumer nylon waste such as their UV rashguard for girls, UV rompers for babies and UV rashguard for boys. They also recently added a UV swimwear range for teens in addition to offering a large range of UV swimsuits for women and children for adorable matching mummy and me looks. There’s just so much to love!
